Liquid products are among the most common filling and dosing tasks. But they are not infrequently a greater challenge than is apparent at first glance. Carbonated beverages, chemically reactive products or products that tend to foam require expertise and attention in the technical design.

Viscous media

The range of viscous media is broad and therefore requires different technologies than liquid media. From washing gel to honey or fruit jelly, to curd cheese or sauces, there are many products that have their own requirements - sometimes with pieces in them.

Powder

Powder includes all ground, dry products that have a mesh size (mashsize) above xxx. A distinction must be made as to whether they tend to flow or not. Powdery products are dosed very precisely and quickly with auger fillers, either by volume or weight.

Granules

Granulates are generally dry and very free-flowing products. They are therefore easy to process both for dosing by volume and by weight. Cup fillers are often used for volume dosing, multi head weighers can be used for precise dosing by weight.

Bulk goods

Bulk goods such as crisps or nuts have to be conveyed carefully. Since they can therefore hardly be dosed by volume but by weight, multi-head weighers and xxx are mostly used here. With this technology, filling can be both accurate and fast. When filling very small and light products, such as screws or tablets, according to exact quantities, optical counters are sometimes also used.

Unit goods

Because of their sensitivity, products such as biscuits, chocolates or pastries are often still placed by hand in trays or other protective containers before they are sealed in films. Here, too, there are machine solutions, such as robotic arms with suction pads (pick and place), or special free-fall technologies that are precisely adapted to the products.
